Your Warranty
Your warranty is a contract between yourself and Houston Daylighting, the company that installed your product. It protects you against material defects in your materials and ensures quality workmanship for a time period.
Most implied warranties last for a limited time, usually up to one year. Some companies offer extended warranties for an additional fee.

With Houston Daylighting you have a much more extensive warranty! We pride ourselves on giving you a good warranty that far exceeds your expectations.
WARRANTY:
This written warranty will help you understand your rights and responsibilities.
For all products purchased or delivered hereunder, Solatube International, Inc. offers a manufacturer’s warranty that their materials are free from defective parts of workmanship and/or material for a period of time from the date of purchase as noted hereafter:
Express Warranty Period:
Skylight components 10 years; all other products 5 years, unless otherwise noted. Skylight components consist of skylight domes, roof flashing bases to which the dome is fastened, diffusers and diffuser ceiling mountings, reflectors, reflective tubing, plastic, rubber or metal seals, gaskets, tapes, and fasteners.
Service Contract:
Should any product be determined by Solatube International to be defective, at the option of Solatube International, such products shall be replaced or repaired free and returned to the Buyer free from defect. Buyer shall give notice of any such defect to HOUSTON DAYLIGHTING within thirty (30) days of discovery of such defects.
Extended Warranty:
Houston Daylighting offers a standard warranty that lasts longer than most companies’ extended warranties! The specified period of our express warranties is long and far exceeds federal law requirements and most warranties.
VOID:
Houston Daylighting will do everything possible to cover defects and any defective product or installation with our express warranty with free repairs.
Contract Law:
Houston Daylighting will comply with Federal laws, State law, case law, Federal Trade Commission guidelines, and any uniform commercial code applicable in fulfilling warranty terms.
Conditions That Void Your Warranty:
The warranty on all products, materials, and installations is VOIDED by destructive acts of nature or human tampering. If the product fails because of acts of God or people tampering our service contract can not guarantee manufacturer replacement.
Acts of Nature:
Acts of nature such as severe windstorms, lightning strikes, fire, flood, or other natural disasters are covered by homeowners’ insurance and must be addressed there.
Human Tampering:
Human tampering, intentional or by accident, also voids HOUSTON DAYLIGHTING’s warranty. The last contractor or individual to touch the work owns the results. Conscious decisions or accidental acts to remove, alter, reroof, reinstall, or otherwise alter HOUSTON DAYLIGHTING’s original installation in any way void the entire warranty on materials and labor.
Responsible:
HOUSTON DAYLIGHTING cannot be held responsible for natural disasters, acts of God, or actions of other people after initial proper installation.
SERVICE POLICY:
Limited Warranty:
HOUSTON DAYLIGHTING stands behind its written warranties 100%. We will correct any installation deficiency within 10 years of the date of installation, any product-related defects within 10 years of installation for skylight products, and 5 years for vented and lighted products.
Service Contracts:
Before your warranty expires you have ample time to use your original warranty. Buyer beware that in most major warranties Houston Daylighting executes, there are other issues located in the area of our work. Houston Daylighting can not warranty roof leaks or other causes. Warranties cover Houston Daylighting’s materials and work only, we do not cover general home warranties not expressly stated in our estimate’s scope of work.
The Warranty Process:
After the installer inspects the Solatube product, he/she will report the cause of the problem to the customer, noting any faulty product. If the problem is covered under the warranty, the installer will repair it at no charge.
If not, the installer will complete a service estimate that shows what the estimated charges will be. This is only an estimate and charges may exceed this amount. The customer’s signature on the service estimate will authorize the installer to proceed with the repairs.
If the warranty call is covered under the manufacturer’s warranty for a product or installation-related services, HOUSTON DAYLIGHTING will repair at no charge to you. If your later re-roofing causes the need for repair, having an unqualified person install the product, leaks unrelated to the Solatube product, or for reasons that are not the fault of the HOUSTON DAYLIGHTING as the original installer, HOUSTON DAYLIGHTING will charge for any repairs that are performed.
Service Charges:
The charge for services starts at $195.00 per hour for non-warranty claim repairs. Any additional parts or materials used will also be charged to the customer.
We want our customers to be 100% satisfied with Solatube products and the service that goes along with them. This repair service is offered to the public to ensure the best performance and satisfaction from a Solatube product. CUSTOMER AGREEMENT:
HOUSTON DAYLIGHTING is Premier Solatube Dealer and Solar Star Dealer. We ask that you take a moment to read and understand the conditions outlined below before beginning with the installation. Your estimator and installer should take a few minutes to consult with you on the exact number and size of Solatube products desired, the exact ceiling location for each Solatube product, and the pricing structure. This ensures accuracy and verifies your intent. Your signature on your invoice indicates that you understand the conditions listed here and that you are authorizing the HOUSTON DAYLIGHTING installer to begin the work immediately.
HOUSTON DAYLIGHTING will recommend the best proper product mix to meet your goals. That recommendation is based on cumulative years worth of experience and thousands of installations. Recommendations for multiple solar-powered fans, tubular skylights, or the addition of installed lighting kits are for your own benefit. Insufficient numbers of fans or skylights will result in sub-optimal performance, not enough light will be delivered for the area, or the fans will not be numerous enough to ventilate a large area efficiently. HOUSTON DAYLIGHTING will recommend lighting kits every time an existing powered switch light is replaced, because that light is part of your home’s lighting plan, and you will miss it when the sun sets. These are NOT abusive seller gouging behaviors; they are required for your ultimate satisfaction with our products and services. If I as the customer change or alter the recommendation, I am aware that HOUSTON DAYLIGHTING will provide services under the assumption that I am planning to finish the recommended installation over time to reach the full potential results of my purchased materials.
CONDITIONS:
I understand that I will have several diffusers (lens) options at the time of installation and that I am responsible for any diffuser changes thereafter. House calls after installation (other than warranty issues) start at $195 per hour,
I have been advised of the pricing and agree to make payment in full upon completion of the installation. Payment can be in the form of Visa, MasterCard, Annex, check, or exact cash.
I authorize the Solatube certified installer to install my Solatube product(s) and have been made aware of the exact size and ceiling location for each Solatube product.
